Golf Cart Purchasing

1. How do you deliver my EV Cart to my home or business?

Bright EV ships our EV Carts via ‘Enclosed Transport’ which protects your new EV Cart. Other EV Cart Dealers offer ‘free shipping’ but often they put in the “fine print” they only offer free shipping with ‘Open Transport’, which means your EV Cart is exposed to the elements; wind, rain, snow, mud, rocks, lightning, hail, etc., as they transport your new EV Cart.

2. What is a VIN, MSO, MCO and Serial Number?

MSO/Registration terms and ‘Registration Ready.’

Fast facts on MSO, Serial Number, VIN #, Bill of Sale, Title, Registration and License Plates.

MSO = Manufacturer Statement of Origin Copy (also called MCO “C” = Certificate)

VIN = Vehicle Identification Number.

Serial Number = Manufacturer Designated Number Stamped, etched or displayed on a placard on a vehicle.

Think of the MSO (MCO) as the birth certificate of the vehicle and the Serial Number as a Social Security Number. The VIN is a recent addition to ‘Golf Carts’ and was mandated when EV Carts were allowed to operate on public streets as LSV, or ‘Low Speed Vehicles.’

Bill of Sale is the Invoice paperwork you received from your dealer or private party.

Title, Registration and License Plates are issued and regulated by state agencies, so Bill of Sale, MSO and VIN are needed for paperwork at the DMV/MVD.

When MSO and/or VIN are NOT present, depending on the state, vehicle registration can become very complex (ownership affidavits, title searches, vehicle inspection, etc.).

‘Registration Ready’ means that if you choose to register the vehicle you have all the documents required to accomplish that with the Bill of Sale, MCO and VIN plate attached to the vehicle.

3. What is the warranty on the Evolution EV Carts?

The warranty states that Evolution ‘warrants to the original retail registered purchaser’’ and ‘Warranty Starts from the date of the purchasing the vehicle from authorized dealer’.

Bright EV is an authorized dealer so if there were any warranty related items with your EV Cart, we would coordinate with you for simple repairs or replacement through our network of mobile mechanics.

For more detailed issues we would arrange for and pay for warranty work at a local dealer or send you a new EV Cart, depending on the circumstances.

Warranty Period:

All EV Products: 2 years/parts

Lithium Battery: 5 years/parts

Evolution Charger: 4 years

Evolution Controller: 4 years

Frame: Lifetime

Evolution Golf Carts is ultimately responsible for warrantying their products nationally or through your nearest dealership. As an example, if an EV Cart is sold in California and the buyer moves to Florida, the California dealer would be responsible for coordinating and paying for the work on the EV Cart, but the local Florida dealer would be required to perform that work and be compensated by the California dealer.

When asked by Evolution the local dealerships will perform warranty related work or risk defaulting on their dealership agreement with Evolution.

Likewise, if a dealership closes for some reason, then Evolution Golf Carts will honor their warranty agreement and coordinate the work between the Buyer and a different Evolution Dealer.

At our local dealerships in California, Arizona and Nevada we frequently perform work on EV Carts sold by other dealers and charge those dealers for that work and if that dealer is out of business, then we adopt that client as our own and coordinate payment from Evolution for labor and parts.

See the Evolution Electric Vehicles Website for more information.

4. How can I securely pay for my EV Cart?

If you plan to pay by credit card, we do charge 3.0% because that is what the credit card processor charges us, so please let us know before we send the final invoice out if you plan to pay by credit card.

If you pay by check, please know that it will delay the arrival by USPS delivery schedules and payment clearing. So, wire, check, Zelle are no cost methods.

We offer low prices because we do not hold large inventories in stock, so we require full, up front payment which reduces our holding costs which we pass on to our customers.

5. How long does it take to receive my EV Cart?

The time-frame for delivery is typically about 2-4 weeks after purchase.

All ICON vehicles take around 4-8 weeks for production and shipment to you. These longer wait times are due to the factory itself and not Bright EV.

6. How do I know I’m getting a fair price?

We track very closely national prices and have seen from our competitor’s invoices that we are well below BOTH their MSRP and Final Invoice prices.

We have a list of Bright EV customers that have agreed to give personal references regarding our performance and track record they recently observed.

7. Does Bright EV offer financing?

Bright EV works with multiple lenders and their minimum credit score requirement is 650. If you have a low Debt to income ratio, you will likely get approved for 0% at 25 or 36 months and be provided other options with interest but longer payoff period.

You may finance accessories, taxes, registration, etc. Usually it is zero down payment, with approved credit.

Financing does increase the cost of the EV Cart 4.5-8.5% though that minimizes cash input and there are interest-free options available that could make that worth the additional expense.

We sell our EV Carts with very small profit margins so incurring lender fees and keeping our prices below our competition is not possible. That is why we must pass on the lender fees as over 75% of our buyers do not require financing.

Also check with your local bank or credit union for financing as we often receive checks from them, so we know there are local and community banks that lend on EV Carts. Also, many credit card companies offer ‘zero interest’ for up to 12 or 24 months for certain customers.

LSV Requirements

NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) issued a mandate that requires hybrids and electric vehicles travelling at less than 18.6 mph (30 km/h) to emit warning sounds that pedestrians must be able to hear over background noises- The regulation requires full compliance in all electric vehicles, including LSVs. Because of the quietness of electric vehicles and the possibility of collision with visually or audibly impaired pedestrians, the overall objective is to facilitate proximity awareness and minimize the chance of personal injury. In summary, an LSV (legally licensed to drive on streets up to 25 mph> must emit a sound when the forward or reverse switch is in the:

Forward position:

  • From 0 MPH to 18.6 mph.The sound is allowed to stop once the vehicle exceeds 18.6 mph.

Reverse position:
In order to comply with NHTSA rules, all LSV vehicles have a Pedestrian Alert sound generator installed.
